Hi all. I just installed MCE on a home build and I'm having some issues. Any help is appreciated.

Here are the specs:
AMD 64 3500+
1 GB RAM
MSI Nvidia 7300LE
PVR150
XP MCE 2005, fresh install
DirecTV Sat box

So far I have everything but live TV working (I think). Searched Google and forums for a week, so I think I have the correct drivers and codecs installed.

Two issues right now.
1. MCE setup does not recognize the IR Blaster that came with the PVR150. It's working outside of MCE (brings up menus). Seems they are not compatible with the sat boxes. I have one of these on the way. Wondering if I jumped the gun or if this looks ok.

2. This is more annoying than anything. When I boot up, open MCE, or close MCE, the screen goes nuts. It's hard to describe, but it's much worse than a flicker. It flashes, goes dark, flashes some more, etc. It lasts about 5 seconds. Once it's done, everything looks fine. DVD playback looks good. I have no idea what TV looks like yet (can't get through the setup due to the IR Blaster issue).

Any ideas?

Anyone have similar display issues?

What decoder are you using? And you need an MCE compatible usb receiver. The one you linked will do.

I use the InterVideo pack. Got the new remote and everything works great. Display is still an issue when opening or closing MCE.

Mine flickers like mad as well when starting/stopping MCE and when the screensaver kicks in. As it doesn't affect actual media playback I've never worried about it.

Try an older nVidia driver, bt. I don't know what to tell mark, he gave us zero info to go on.
