160GB!  Cool, enough to store 5 hours of HD content.  Cool [H]

So, i just got this HD Tuner with my Comcast subscription. How do i connect it to my computer and use it with Windows Media Center (Vista)?

Have you tried the DVR capabilities built-in?  Did you order Comcast DVR or just the HDTV option?  If you just ordered HDTV, then its likely the DVR functionality was disabled.  As far as connecting it up to Windows Media Center...I'm not sure.

The DVR capabilities built into the STB are great. I'd just like to use Vista's Media Center and record to my hard drive. So far i haven't found any drivers.

Has anyone found the firewire Vista x86 (or x64) drivers for this unit as of yet?

Also.. i thought it had around 15 or 20 hours of HD recording ability?

    Re: Motorola DCH3416 set-top box

The CDH3416 has 20 hours of HIDEF recording -- at least that is the figure that is referenced by COX Cable, and is in line with the amount of recording time I seem to receive on my unit.

A separate question is whether one can hook up an external hard drive, so as to expand the recording capacity. There is a USB plug on the back of the unit, and an eSATA plug. I just phoned COX tech support with this question. They suggested taking the box down to my local COX office and asking them if they could enable one of the ports. Haven't tried it yet. Anyone have experience with hooking up an external hard drive?

I haven't tried this yet, but it looks like what you're looking for.
