RE: DVi -> HDMI cable wont wake screen

    5.10s are out.

They make no mention of a fix.
They do not mention it in the known issues.

Didn't work for me. I will be calling them to follow up and make sure it's not forgotten.

I'm having the exact same problem with the media center hooked up to a Sony LCD TV. I'd love to try setting the power save settings to S3, but I can't get into the BIOS settings while the media center is hooked up to the TV. They're just not showing up.

It's their partner / reseller support line -- I'm not supposed to give it out. Please do go through the support options online, though. Phone support is available as well depending on your card's warranty status.

I opened a ticket with ATI. I'll post if I get a response.

RE: DVi -> HDMI cable wont wake screen

    Bah.

I've got the same issue off an X300 with DVI-DVI connection to the TV.

Hot plug instantly solves the problem.
Remote login (RDP) solves the problem (log in as the same user logged in to the primary display).
Restarting the PC solves the problem.

I'm on Catalyst Version 5.9 - Which I appear to need to support 1920x1080p

    Thanks.

EDIT: Downgraded to Catalyst 5.6 over DVI-DVI interconnect, and after a whole bunch of mucking around, have 1920x1080 running without the power-up resume issue. Working beautifully. I will wait for ATI's fix.

RE: DVi -> HDMI cable wont wake screen

I get this problem with my Toshiba 30HFX84, When I have a picture it's BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!

I switched to using component hookups with the ATI converter, however the picture isn't as nice.

I opened up a case with ATI, I have a ATI Radeon 9500 pro with MCE2005.

Man, I hope this gets fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: DVi -> HDMI cable wont wake screen

yeah, i would be using 5.6 as well, but I game on this machine as well and the gaming performance in BF2 has improved tremendously with 5.9 and above. Also, DVD playback in 5.6 was nearly impossible for me as it removed menu animations (couldn't tell where you were in the menu navigation). Also, I didn't get 1920X1080p support until version 5.10. I really just wish that they could have one package that brings it all together. I won't hold my breath though. Thanks for sending in your tickets, guys. Hopefully, that will speed things along. Feel free to post or send me your ticket numbers and I will add them to my list next time I talk with them.

RE: DVi -> HDMI cable wont wake screen

That's not livable man!!!!!! Don't make yourself need to reset (off then on) your system. Go get the same ATI DVI to Component I got till a software patch comes out, or get a Nvidia card. The only other workaround I think I would even consider at this time is the one mentioned by "brainstorm":

"My workaround is to use the Catalyst Control Center to create two profiles - one with 16-bit color and another with 32-bit color and associate them with shortcut keys. When I switch back to my PC I temporarily switch to 16-bit color using the shortcut key and switch back to 32-bit color again."

I haven't heard about any DVI to HDMI problems like this with the NVIDIA cards, has anyone here heard of NVIDIA problems? ATI was always the best way to go for the video playback abilities, however now it looks like I would suggest a NVIDIA card to anyone using HDMI.

Has there been any cases like this with just a DVI to DVI connection?

This really sucks, I feel like I was forced to buy the ATI DVI to component converter because it seems to be a software issue. This seems like a pretty big problem to me, I can't believe this hasn't gotten more attention.

I just feel like calling up ATI and yelling " FIX YOUR -HIT", but then again I would have to find someone to translate it, LOL.

Well, the quest for the answer continues...

RE: DVi -> HDMI cable wont wake screen

Well I'll be damned..This very closely describes the problem I've been having with my Dell LCD. Sucker goes to sleep and never wakes up or when I reboot I have to kick it to Input1 and back to Input2 to wake up the monitor.

Dell keeps sending me instructions on my monitors 'power save mode'....'tards.

RE: DVi -> HDMI cable wont wake screen

Yes, it happens with DVI to DVI connections. Yes, it sucks and they need to fix it. Please continue to pursue your case numbers until they do fix it. I for one don't want to invest in another video card when the one i have would be otherwise satisfactory. $%#@*&!@#$%^!

Called them today and they said that engineering is still working on it. Just thought you all should know. The more they get bugged, the quicker they will be to fix it.

RE: DVi -> HDMI cable wont wake screen

I rolled back the drivers to an earlier version - now works perfectly.
