Has anyone tried this new dvd add-in on Cyberlink PowerDVD 5?

If the volume doesn't work with WinDVD 6, you may able to just fiddle with the command macros in the RWPlusWinDVD5.xml file. Basically it just needs whatever the keyboard equivalent is (e.g. Shift>UpArrow in WinDVD 5).

But if you want to play with the code, I use the *free* Visual C# Express IDE http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/express/vcsharp/default.aspx which requires .Net v2 (included in download). Otherwise you can stick with VS.NET 2003/.Net v1.1 - it should compile fine as there's no v2 specific code in the app. In fact if you do recompile in v1.1., it'd be great if you could post it so others that don't want\have .Net v2 can use. In terms of programming, if you know Java you'll be fine, it's very similar. Thanks!!

Looks like a great proggy. I haven't had time playing with it in MCE, but i could see in the log that it responded to my x10 remote.

Will it be possible to use the mobile phone kbd feature in MCE with this? I would very much like to use that feature with my remote for searching in my music collection.

I haven't, but are the keyboard shortcuts much different from Intervideo's (attached)? Most likely, the RWPlusWinDVD5.xml could be tweaked to work in any case. Just enable logging to see which remote command fires, determine the equivalent keyboard command, update the .XML and voila!

Not sure what you mean. A mobile phone keyboard? X10Commander takes input from an X10 device (like a remote) and sends them to an application (like MCE). Where does the mobile phone bit fit in?

In MCE you can perform a search i.e. in your music collection. You search by specifying i.e. the artist name, and you do that an "SMS-mobile-phone-keyboard"-way. That is, 2 quick press on num-button 2 makes a "b", 3 quick press on num-button 7 makes a "r" and so on...

When I use the link to download the .Net Framework v2.0.50215, the setup.exe file is labeled as version 40607.16, then when I try to run x10 commander, the program won't start and says I need version 2.0.50215 to make it work. Does anyone have a solution for me?

RE: Remote Wonder Plus and MCE 2005 - a .NET app for X10 devices

Oh I see what you mean. That's a good question. It would need to be something that MCE was setup to do (i.e. 3 num 2 keys = B). Or you could map the 2 button to send the letter B in the RWPlusMCE05.xml commands file, but then it would always do just that letter. Maybe there's an MCE addon (replacing the default MyMusic) that's setup that way already? I haven't tried any but you might check out http://www.thegreenbutton.com/community/shwmessage.aspx?ForumID=26&MessageID=79542??

Anyone else have a better idea?

RE: Remote Wonder Plus and MCE 2005 - a .NET app for X10 devices

I had the wrong link for the .Net framework (I updated it now though). The right link is http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=B7ADC595-717C-4EF7-817B-BDEFD6947019&displaylang=en. The other link was for the .NET SDK v2.0.40607.16

Please try it with this link.

    Sorry!!

RE: Remote Wonder Plus and MCE 2005 - a .NET app for X10 devices

I might be crazy, but http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=B7ADC595-717C-4EF7-817B-BDEFD6947019&displaylang=en. still is a downloat for .NET SDK v2.0.40607.16. I just clicked it and installed it with the same problem, the program asks for v2.0.50215. The file that downloads from the link is dotnetfx.exe and if you right click it and select properties/version, it says v2.0.40607.16. What is going on? Thank you for being patient. I really want my RW+ to work better.

    OMG!

You're not crazy, but the MS download center is! I still had the wrong link, it should be:

    It's the .Net v2.0 Beta 2 not Beta 1....UGH!

Sorry for all the confusion. I hope others haven't given up because of this broken link DOH!

RE: Remote Wonder Plus and MCE 2005 - a .NET app for X10 devices

Great app! I love being able to finally use my Remote Wonder Plus with my MCE2005.  Why aren't there more RF controller choices (with decent software) for MCE?  I don't get it.

Anyway, I've been through the XML config file and I see how to edit the functions you've predefined.  What I can't figure out is if there's a way to get the directional thumb button on my Remote Wonder Plus to actually act like a mouse.  I really don't need another navigation button like the four arrow buttons at the bottom that surround the OK button.  I'd like to be able to control the actual mouse cusor with the controller and unplug my mouse.  That and use the two keys to either side as left and right mouse buttons.

Anyone know of a way to do that?  The ATI software that comes with the Remote Wonder Plus does it and that's the only function of theirs I like better than yours.  Even with the MCE plugins I've found most of the keys on the remote don't function with the ATI software, but they're wonderful in yours.

Thanks again for a wonderful app!

RE: Remote Wonder Plus and MCE 2005 - a .NET app for X10 devices

Thank you! So glad you are finding this app useful. The lack of any good RF software is exactly why I wrote it in the first place, so it's nice to see it's filling the void.

The reason the thumb pad doesn't act like a mouse is currently X10Commander can only send keyboard commands (shortcuts), and there isn't a keyboard equivalent for mouse movements. However, I'm working on extending the app to be able to send mouse commands as well, so stay tuned for an upcoming release.

Techno-Babble: For those developers interested, I'm working on calling SendInput instead of keybd_event for mouse commands, and intend do so for keyboard commands as well. Comments?

    Thanks!

RE: Remote Wonder Plus and MCE 2005 - a .NET app for X10 devices

    Hello,

Firstly I have to say, this is one amazing app!  I have been waiting to control my entire RW+ since I purchased my TV Wonder Elite.

My question is, is there anyway to control what happens when windows is present? Like can I have volume working, and full mouse control when windows is present, then have it entirely different for the MCE interface.
