Using keyboard and everything looks correct when I go back in

I was able to duplicate this on my home machine (x86).  I was testing today on my work machine (x64) and it worked fine.  Anyone download the 64bit and have it working?  I'll debug and post another version tomorrow morning.

Re: New Addin: Google Calendar Viewer

Mjp14 - I am not able to log in either. I created a dummy account and verified everything. I keep receiving the failed credentials message. I'm entering everything using a keyboard on an x86 install.

    Issues/Suggested Changes

    1. Using my mouse or keyboard, I have to click "Save" (under settings) twice before it tries to authenticate.
    2. The login screen could use clarification. The top box is asking for the email address, but I am assuming you are really just loking for they typical username entered when logging into a Google account? I can only speculate on this since I have not successfully logged in (used USERNAME and USERNAME@GMAIL.COM).
    3. If the credentials are invalid, the screen still shows a calendar. Maybe the screen should indicate that the user is not logged in and direct them to go to "Settings" to correct it.
    4. Changing months is very fluid, but there doesn't seem to be a way to change the year. Maybe you could have a double navigation bar at the top. The first row could be the year and the second the months?
    5. Have asterisks mask the password to protect user's Google accounts.
    6. Once the calendar is displayed, have the current day highlighted.
    7. It looks like there is an Events summary list to the right. That's a great idea!

    Thanks!

Re: New Addin: Google Calendar Viewer

A new version is available for download V0.0.1.2.

    http://code.google.com/p/mcgooglecalendarbeta/

Also, a new version of the MCUnreg.bat is available.  Please download this and delete the old.

    Steps to upgrade:

1)download the NEW MCUnreg.bat - run it - should see a command prompt saying 'success'

note: if it says 'failed'   PM me and I'll walk you through the fix.

2)uninstall old version V0.0.1.1 as usual

3)download and install new version V0.0.1.2

The unistall process will be fixed in next version.

Keep me updated on any issues.

Re: New Addin: Google Calendar Viewer

    mjp14,

The new version works great I will continue to play with it. I have one comment so far. I am not in front of my VMC but using Logmein.com. When I mouse over a calendar date the active sqare will turn white which is cool but remains white when I navigate away. It seems a bit odd to look at. This may be because I am using a mouse i don't know

    Thanks again

1)I'll check it out and fix it.

    2) I agree.  My initial thought was that since you need to use and email to start your account it made sense, but second thought, not so much

    3) agree.  will be updated in next version

4)V0.0.1.2 I added a 3 month padding into next year.  Let me know what you think.

Re: New Addin: Google Calendar Viewer

On my main VMC machine and my extender, I can log in but the calendar is empty.

If I connect to the google calendar site, the events do appear.

    Am I missing a setting?

    thanks.

PM with your login info (completely confidential, and I wont change anything)?  If its private, create a dummy account and if it behaves the same way send me that login info possibly.

I def appreciate any help in debugging this.  I have created 5 accounts and it has worked, I would like to see why yours isn't working.

I just noticed that it shows single events.. ie: 8:00pm Saturday --- watch TV
but not repeating events.... 8:00pm every Saturday --- watch TV

    New Version Available - V0.0.1.3

    (last one until next week!)

    http://code.google.com/p/mcgooglecalendarbeta/

    New Features:

    - fixed a couple UI issues on the Calendar Page

    - added password mask to the settings page

    - added caret to edit boxes on settings page

    - changed terminology from 'Email' to 'User Name' on settings page

-fixed the Uninstaller.  It will now unregister properly when upgrading from V0.0.1.3 to future version.  If you upgrade from V0.0.1.2 you still need to run the MCUnreg.bat file BEFORE uninstalling.

I am aware of that.  It is due in the next release to handle a wider range of event 'types'.  Thanks for keeping me posted.

I just tried this out on my extender for the first time and the days on the calendar stay white after you focus on a new day.  Does not happen on the PC.  Not sure yet, but its on the list.

    6) agreed. Next version.

    1. Looks like you fixed it!
    2. Loooks good. Much more intuitive.
    3. Incorrect login info entered and I immediate received the "login failed. check login credentials" message, but the calendar still loaded. This is totally fine if you want to keep it this way, up to you.
    4. I like the padding you added. I still think users down the road will request a way to see further forward or backwards ("Hmmm... What day did we have that party on last year???").
    5. Mask looks good.
    6. Current day still doesn't highlight for me.

    New Request

    1. Is there any way to have the times in the blocks and the "Events" list shortened similar to how Google Calendar displays them? Currently Google Calendar shows an event that occurs from 8pm-9pm as:  "8p Lunch". Your app shows it as "8:00 PM-9:00 PM Lu..". Without highlighting that particular day, all you see is the long time. I actually like the fact that you indicate the end time for the event. Maybe "8p-9p Lunch" on both the calender and Event list. Odd times could be "8p-8:30p Lunch".

Here is a screenshot to show what it looks like with multiple events for a day...

    Bug/Issue

    1. When a day is highlighted on the calendar, using BACKSPACE on my keyboard will not back out of the application. Using BACK on my MCE remote works though. Weird.

Re: New Addin: Google Calendar Viewer

    Portal45:

    3) I agree I just didnt have time to fix this.  The next version will not display the calendar.  I'm thinking of a graphic of some sort indicating a bad login.

    4) What do you think of the operation of the padding?  If people like it, I was going to add settings for 'Show Last Years Months' and 'Show Next Years Months' with a configureable time scale.  (terminology is off the top of my head)

    6) Do you mean the currently selected day, or 'Today'.   The image you posted looks like the currently selected day is highlighted.  The number of 'Today' is actually colored yellow but it is quite hard to see. So, that will change. Im just trying to narrow down this issue as I saw something similar on my extender last night.

    Bug:

    1) I found that last night to.  I think I once had a key handler for backspace in there but took out the functionality.  There might be some lingering code that should go away. Next release.

Thanks for the input!  I would say Wed for a new release....
