Re: Scheduled recordings disappearing - TV PACK 2008

We believe we have identified the cause of this issue and are working on a fix.  While it's too early in the process to discuss release dates, we are looking into getting the fix for this released as quickly as possible.

Re: Scheduled recordings disappearing - TV PACK 2008

    Hi guys.

    Any news on this?
This really is a VERY annoying bug in the TV Pack.

My setup also gets its EPG data from in-band loading. And I have the same problems reported in this thread (disappearing scheduled recordings, recordings of just a few seconds, etc)

I really hope Microsoft solves this real quickly...

Re: Scheduled recordings disappearing - TV PACK 2008

+1 for me on the following issues:

    * All Scheduled recordings disappearing - the shows are listed under view scheduled series but VMC doesn't think there are any shows matching. Things worked great for nearly 2 weeks.

    * Recorded shows not playing - something I also saw on my other VMC system without TV Pack but unlike the other system I can't retry playing the show and have it eventually play (most times)

    * TV shows without thumbnails (so far it is these shows that don't play) - does seem to be related to having back to back recordings

I have an XPS 420 with dual ATI DCTs (no cablecards installed).

Re: Scheduled recordings disappearing - TV PACK 2008

I do not have TV pack installed, however, I have seen once thus far where a scheduled series I had set to record no longer showed up in the list of series.  I kept scrolling around and looking up and down to find it, knowing it had to be there.  Odd, it is not there...so I went into the guide and scrolled until I found the next date it should have recorded, sure enough there were three red circles next to the show denoting it was a series set to record.  Even so I went back and looked again and the show was still not listed, so I could not change it, or prioritize it, etc.  I had to manually delete it from the guide and then re-add it back as a series to see it again, etc.

There is a thread started regarding series recordings here:

Some series bugs with series recordings and the EPG and the go beyond TV pack and include non-TV pack users...

This tells me they are working on a fix...? And that they will release it as soon as possible

Re: Scheduled recordings disappearing - TV PACK 2008

We have an update scheduled to release to the Microsoft Download Center very soon.  I'll post information once the update is live.

As you've probably seen from other posts I've done, I'm a bit reluctant to provide release dates, as there can be any number of reasons why these might slip.  At this stage in the process, we're 95% certain on the release.  Just want to set expectations that while everything looks good for a very-soon-release, we could still find something that would warrant delaying this release.

Thanks Tim, hopefully we can get it soon, these problems are causing me lot of buising, when the wife finds these problems, she generally throws the remote at me, and tells me to go and get Sky+ instead!
