    SirMeili:
    Birsch,

BAsically when starting the app in VMC, it would say it couldn't contact the downloader add-in. I wasn't aware if this was a service that was running or something that was supposed to start with VMC.

I'm having the same issue...any fixes for this yet?

Re: new bittorrent add-in: tvitty v0.9.1

hey hotshot - while there are no additional services installed, tvitty has a background process for bittorrent client which is automatically launched when media center starts. after it is launched tvitty can connect, unless some other error has occured.

try launching media center first (not via the tvitty shortcut), and wait for ~20 seconds. then click on the tvitty icon and see if it loads. if tvitty still fails to launch, please send us your tvitty.log (in folder c:\programdata\tvitty) to info@tvitty.com and we'll take a look.

thanks for taking the time to check out tvitty and help us debug it!

Re: new bittorrent add-in: tvitty v0.9.1

thanks to our growing community of testers we've managed to pinpoint and fix the problem reported by SirMeili and hotshot79.

tvitty bittorrent add-in v0.9.6 has been posted on our site. new in this release:
    • added max bittorrent connection setting to setting page
    • improved support for private tracker Torrents and RSS by adding redirection support (thanks fredx21!)
    • improved upload limit setting default to at least 5% of DL speed for smoother operation
    • improved connection between tvitty and the bittorrent client to use named pipes instead of local TCP which caused disconnection on some machines (thanks hotshot79!)
    • fixed DHT bug where the node_id would get set after it was started and be inconsitent with rpc_manager and routing_table
check our changelog for history of changes.

    get it here!

Re: new bittorrent add-in: tvitty v0.9.1

    Real quick question.

How do you add a "series recording" type of auto download? I used to do this with uTorrent by using the tvrss.net search page to create an RSS feed, but in the 10 or 15 minutes I played with tvitty, it wasn't apparent to me how to do it.

How good can it be, if it isn't HD?

Re: new bittorrent add-in: tvitty v0.9.1

bjdraw - I've just been using this app for a day now so I'm not the expert on this, but here's what I did:
I searched for a series (tvrss), and then clicked the Auto DL button, which added a new item to the Auto DL section. I then clicked "check now" in the Auto DL menu and it started to download all the episodes of the series. It will fill in the season by default, but if you don't want to start from episode 1 make sure to specify which starting episode or it will queue up all the episodes from the beginning of the series.

I got it set up on 4 series and so far it works great. There seems to be another option to configure Auto DL using the "New Feed" option, but I didn't try using it yet.

Re: new bittorrent add-in: tvitty v0.9.1

    hi bjdraw,

the quickest and more accurate way to follow a specific series is to use the "new search feed" option in the auto section. you can set the season and starting episode, as well as other filters. using this method, tvitty will search specifically for the next episode in ALL configured search feeds.

once configured, click the "check now" button to test it. by default tvitty will check every 12hrs, which you can change this through the settings menu.

the other method is to download everything in a feed using the "new feed" option, which is more useful for following all titles from a specific publisher. there's also an option to add a name filter which we was reported to be buggy (doesn't filter), so for specific series we suggest to use the "search feed" option until the fix is released.

Go to feed and add Mininova as a source.
put the following in the sourcs feed "http://mininova.org/rss/{0}".

Then search for something and then on the left after you search you will a auto download option.  Then it will ask you for season info and quality.

Re: new bittorrent add-in: tvitty v0.9.1

has anyone got http://tvrss.net to work as a searchable feed in tvitty?

Re: new bittorrent add-in: tvitty v0.9.1

Yeah Alton, in the last version they also have it configured by default and it works for me. The search feed url they use is:
    http://tvrss.net/search/index.php?show_name={0}&mode=rss&distribution_group=eztv

BTW, while adding a couple of private trackers (works great) I found the GUI screen a little annoying to edit the more complex URLs, so I just edit the config file directly...
