Re: Create new item on Media Center default startup home page for quick access. (like XM Radio, etc)

Here's another thing I'd like to add as a page.

(the built in web sever of a D-Link DCS-3220 IP Security Camera.)http://camera.homeip.net:10500 (fake, PM me if you want the real URL to test with)

Does Vista MCE allow the viewing of a standard web page like the above? (as a shortcut)

I see some embedded automation product that has some MCE support for it. (found via google)
    http://www.embeddedautomation.com/mControl%20v1%20(Home%20Edition)%20Summary.pdf

While it doesnt need to look all pretty, and MCE perfect, any way to view it via 10 foot inteface/mce would be great !

    So again my wishes are:

Video Folder (as a main choice)
XM Radio, Security Camera's (doesnt need to be a main screen choice)

HDHomeRUN supports HD QAM in MCE Vista!

Sorry for an additional delay but I had to go on an unexpected business trip so no Media Center related programming (I haven't been able to replace my development laptop yet).  Before I left I did add an additional feature though, interactive command prompt through the Media Center interface.  I did this to handle another request here on tgb to be able to sync the clock from within the Media Center GUI but I've found myself using it for quite a few tasks.

Wow, this sounds great.  This could be the solution to my issues with the MCE interface.

I was also looking for this. I was access to MyMovies to be either the default in Vista MCE, or no more than 2 clicks from the interface.

I'd be eager to test your solution if you're looking for people :)

I'm working on it right now but only for another half hour, I'm in need of happy hour drinks.  I'll give you a status tomorrow on what I got polished off.  I was going to just put what I had on here for testing but I received several PMs recommending I wait and get it polished before getting feedback.  Sorry again for the delay but haven't had much time in general the last couple months.

I understand entirely, its just good to know that progress is being made, no matter how long it takes to finish.

It's cinco de mayo, not going to happen. Big Smile [:D]  I've been working around 70 hour weeks the lately, haven't been able to focus on other things.

The good news is that right now I'm trying to get confirmation from Microsoft on a bug in Vista related to the screensaver.  If I don't hear from them soon (highly doubt) I'm going to just drop the feature for now.  I haven't put togethor a website\guide for it yet either.

I also just finished building my new development\part-time HTPC (quad core, 8GB ram, 8800GTX, ...) so I have more motivation to get this done as well as a software extender implementation.

One more thing...if anyone has some nice tile images they'd like to see included please send me a PM with more information.  I figured out how to use the default Microsoft images but unfortunately Media Center user defined tiles appear to be confined to a smaller area that uses a different aspect ratio than the native tiles.  I could extract the image and crop it so it has the proper aspect ratio but I don't want to get into any copyright gray area.  Below is an example of what the default video library image look like when used in user defined tile.

    Hi,

You might want to just release what you have as alpha and get some feedback?
