A black and white flashing screen  appears when it gets to the welcome screen. It works ok when connected to a PC monitor. Have had the media centre woking on this TV ok previously. Problem just happened after PC had been shut down. Any suggestions? Thanks

What video card you running???

 

I have seen this issue on my system, using a ATI 2600XT.  I had to go into Catayst Control Panel and reset everything back to default.

 

That fixed it for me.

maybe its trying to run at too high a res or refresh rate :/

how's your pc connected to the TV - it sounds like the pc is outputting at a frequency or resolution not supported by the TV, in which case, maybe closing down, attaching a monitor as well (if possible), then playing with the settings until you get a stable picture, may work.
