BBC News TV Abroad? - Can you test this URL please

    Hi

When I was in the UK I could watch BBC News 24 in VMC using the Web Media plug-in using the below IP TV URL:

Since moving abroad it stopped working. I have configured a UK proxy server in my browser and I can watch the news channel via the BBC News website OK. This is in flash format.

However I really want to do it in Media Center. Can any one in the UK test the above URL to see if the news channel plays in WMP11 ?

It just loops round and shows the BBC News logo for me,

    Thanks

Or the other option might be to play the flash stream in VMC does anyone know how to do that?

I also have a question about using proxy servers, does anyone have any experience of using UK proxy servers for gaining access to UK only Internet Services such as the BBC provides whilst living abroad?

Can you point me to a good source of reliable UK proxy server addresses that you use and know work?

I my experience of using proxy servers the addresses often don't work or are unreliable and slow.

    Thanks

I've just been looking at the BBC iPlayer website, i don't have the iPlayer software installed on my PC, however I am watching a Top Gear web stream from the URL below in Firefox using a UK Proxy address: 217.65.158.65 Port 8080

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00ccfj0/

Does anyone know more about using iPlayer from abroad? And the MCE iPlayer plug-in ?

    Cheers

I tried your URL from inside the UK, and it only shows the BBC News logo for me too.
