Hmm [^o)] Where is the file(s) that defines channel order and blocked channels?

First I have to say. Vista Media Center is in many way a really, really great product.

Can you tell med where the files that defines the following is located:
    - The channel order
    - Blocked/non-blocked channels
    - Mapping between EPG and channels

And what format is the file in? Please say XML so that I may make myself a program that can edit them. I'm on the wake of nerveous breakdown from manually sorting those channels.
    Alternativly,
is there any third party tool to edit those files?

That said, I have to say that I'm sorry, but I just have to get this off my chest:
What were you thinking about? The combination of the following issues is, ehh, well, the only way to put it is bad!
    - Tuning in the EPG guide causes all channels to have to be rescanned. No matter if the EPG setup succeed or not.
    - Everytime you search for channels, the existing channel order and blocked/no blocked channels are lost.
    - The UI for sorting channels is so bad that I'm directly scared. Why, Why did'nt you use a couple of hours extra to give us some decent sorting capabilities?
    - In the UI for mapping channels to the Guide, did you not ever think that it might be interesting to see what Guide channel a channel already was mapped to, if any?

    Best regards, Trond-Eirik

Too bad you haven't had a reply yet. I bet a lot of users would want to know this!

There is a file that contains this information, but I have discovered that backing it up and restoring it after a fresh install doesn't work.

It seems that this information is either encrypted somewhere or hidden in the registry somewhere.

Unfortunately the only solution I've found is to manually write down all of the ~500 channels we get, along with any mapping corrections and then manually use Media Center to go through all of this after a fresh install.  It takes me about an hour every time I install Media Center to get the right channels set up for the guide.

Microsoft, if you are willing; please provide some sort of Media Center backup capability that allows us to migrate our settings from an old install/Media Center PC to a new install/Media Center PC.

The other thing that needs to be done is there needs to be a much more efficient way to edit the channels.  Right now we have to manually scroll through 100's and 100's of channels, just to get to the higher numerical numbers (say for example a new channel 865 shows up, but we don't get it).  We should be able to type in a number and jump there as an absolute minimum.
