I have a problem where I can view live TV (time shift works) without any problem but VMC refuses to record anything that I schedule in the guide. In the event log I have narrowed it down to the following file c:\windows\ehome\ehrec.exe. Is there anyway I can repair this file from the windows disc or via another method so that I don't have to re-install windows? I have already tried the following:

sfc /scannow - this verifies that the file is corrupt but can't repair it.

I have also tried using a known good copy of the file from another machine running tv pack 2008 but still no luck. Weirdly after I copy over the file and then run sfc /scannow it still says the file is coorrupt

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I really don't want to have to re-install everything.
