    Remote not working with nMediaPC

    Dear Reader,
WinXP MCE 2005 Device Manger puts the yellow question mark on the eHome Infrared Transceiver.  MCE remote does not work at all.

This in a new OS installation to a newly formatted HDD.
All WinXP updates have been installed.
Attempted, from Device Manager, to update the driver via the hardware
wizard, I've put, in turn, all three of the WinXP MCE discs in the DVD
drive bay giving the wizard the chance to spot the driver... no luck.

All other WinXP functions seem to be working OK. No other missing
    drivers noted in Device Manager.

The remote works on a Vista MCE installation to the same machine. Won't go into why I abandoned Vista

So, as mentioned, WinXP MCE 2005 with all updates
The box is an nMediaPC 600BAR with Microsoft MCE IR receiver/blaster bud and remote.

Have searched TGB for others with the same issue, none found. nMediaPC people, at time of writing, have not responded to my question.

    Any other information needed?
    Your assistance will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Michael

All "optional" updates are installed from windows update? There's an update for the USB receiver from a couple years ago.

Mitch, thanks for taking a moment. SP3 is installed, all optional updates installed with the exception of Windows Search and Windows Messenger. Other thoughts? Appreciate, Michael
