    Adding MCE2005 to a Windows XP64 installation?

I've been thinking about putting together a custom build PC. I recently rebuilt my Gateway FMC-901 with a clean install of XP Pro, then used a MCE2005 add-on that I have. It was a 2 part process, as the MCE2005 was not part of the original installation.

I also have a Windows XP64 bit version that I've been thinking of using. While I don't know whether or not my 'add on' version of MCE2005 will work, is there any benefit of using a 64 bit OS, other than the ability to use more than 4 gigs of RAM? Would going Vista be a better choice? Being that I'll be building it from scratch, I can ensure that I choose parts that have 64 bit drivers available.

    nVidia PureVideo Platinum Decoder Pack
    2 gig RAM
    120 GB main HD
500 GB secondary drive w/ ripped DVDs
    Samsung 46" LCD TV

what is this mce2005 addon you speak of?
I'm pretty sure any hack of that type would be unsupported.

I have an installation disc that will add on MCE2005 to an existing installation of Windows XP Pro. During the installation, it makes a single registry change (changing a DWORD to a string, I believe). I just didn't know if there was anything relating to MCE2005 in specific that was 64 bit incompatible.
