Thanks for the reply.
Not to sound confrontational, but I did research the error 13. Yes indeed, it could be anything. That's why I checked my other MCE rig (I now have two). That rig also is not receiving any guide updates.
There is nothing wrong (that I am aware) with my network or internet access and there have been no changes made to the once working MCE 2005 rig. Because the MCE rig has two days worth of data left, I believe the trouble started 10 - 12 days ago.
After a bit more playing around with the vista rig which is new and I have no history with this machine, I was able to get it to update but I had to use the digital line up. I got a message stating that I do not have any digital channels set up but I told it to proceed anyway. That worked but the channels are wrong as I have an analog service and even though it is the same cable company (Comcast), the line up are different between the analog service & the digital.
Even more interesting, I have 5 choices when initially setting up the guide. Analog or digital with two different providers (Comcast or WOW), and another Comcast analog servicing a different area.
None of the choices worked Except for the Comcast Digital.
Because my older MCE rig quit getting updates after working and I did get the new vista rig to update but with the wrong line up, I don't believe that the problem is on my end with my hardware, network, or settings.
That is why I was asking if there was a website or something to check the status of the service & servers. You can waste hours chasing a ghost when the problem is not on your end and have no way of knowing what the status is of what you are trying to connect to.
How many hours (collectively) have you spent trying to fix your e-mail client only to realize that it was your e-mail providers service that was down and not something that went wrong with your rig. :)
