    No Surround Option in Vista

Hello Guys I have an HP m8100y with a Creative X-Fi Xtreme Sound Card. I'm using the Optical jack to output sound to an Onkyo tx-sr602 Reciever. When I'm in Media Center I get surround sound without any trouble but now I've purchased an LG GGC-H20L Blu-Ray/HDDVD Player and need to havve surround sound outside of  Media Center in my movies, games and even iTunes but mostly high-def movies. I go under sound in the control panel and right click on SPDIF and there are no options for 5.1. Same thing with all of my Creative Programs. I just don't see where I can turn it on. Please help I want HD Discs on my PC! Thanks in advance!
