    360 HD-DVD Player

Now that the 360's HD-DVD drive is down to $50, I'm considerring buying one to use with my HTPC.  I wasn't planning on going to either HD-DVD or Blu-Ray due to the cost of the players, but $50 makes it worth it, even for a dying format.

Has anyone tried using it with Media Center?  I know there are drivers available to use it with a PC, but I'm not sure about Media Center.

I have an Alienware DHS-5, 2.8Ghz Pentium 4 HT, 3GB of RAM, and an ATI 9600 video card, running Media Center 2005.

It might make it worth it until you realize that you need a hardware upgrade to playback the titles, your 2.8GHz and ATI 9600 are not going to cut it.  With that system I'm guessing AGP is your only video card option?  If so, I'd suggest just skipping HD DVD until you are ready to upgrade your whole system.
