    How to fix imperfect recordings

I record OTA ATSC with Vista Home Premium and an HDHomeRun. Sometimes my recordings of 30 minute or hour long shows will only show a running time of a fraction of that, like 3 minutes. It looks like the entire program recorded because the file size is as large as it should be for the length, but it will only let me watch those 3 mintues. I'm guessing there was a temporary loss of signal - is there way to find out what happened? Is there a way to fix the file/recording to watch the whole thing?

    update to the problem

I am starting to think that the issue might not be signal loss. My signal strength is at 100% and signal quality is up around 90% and the few times that I've actually had trouble with losing signal the screen goes blue and says "there was a signal loss" for a few seconds until it comes back.

It happened again tonight with the biggest loser. 2 hour program, huge 13gb file, but it shows up as only 7 minutes long. Has anyone had this problem? Is there a log somewhere that I could check for more information? Any other forum I should seek out for help?

    Re: update to the problem

Check my thread about "incorrect recording times":

I'm not having any trouble with signal loss as far as I can tell, but I am *definately* seeing the same issue I belive.  (your long recording that only shows as 7:00 minutes, does it play fine at with its true length if you don't use the skip or forward buttons on the remote?)
