I added a rapidshare link for the termsrv.zip file. This contains all the batch files and registry files for installing. Thanks!

I know this thread has been going on a while - and I am very much in debt to the people that made this possible....

However, as I have noticed by some people already - The Sound does not work in Vista Home Premium... I would love it if there was soem way of enabling this...

I have all the files required (I think) from Vista Ultimate - and supposed registry entries to allow these - yet still...

I didnt notice this.  I did all the work in virtual pc and you cant get vista Virtual PCs to have sound anyway so it didnt seem to matter.  I will look into it when I get the chance though.

Re: Vista Remote Desktop - Maximum number of simultaneous users =?

    Hello!

Thanks - it is not a major deal - but I use Remote Desktop a lot - and it would be nice to be able to bring the sound with me - whether it is for music playing, or just application sounds.

i have got the clipboard working on an intermittent basis - but the sound is more important to me.

I have looked into this a little, and it appears to me to be more of an issue with the connecting computer than the remote computer. I right now am connected to my ultimate box with a newer pc with an hd audio codec sound device, and have sound working. If I connect to my ultimate pc with an older computer without an hd audio codec device, I get no audio.

I have experienced this a lot in the past with printers. When connecting to a remote machine, it will try and redirect printers through what you have installed on the local machine, but if the drivers cannot be loaded onto the remote machine, then it will be a no go. You can verify this by looking at the event viewer for rdp errors, and it will mention things like the printer not being able to be installed and so on and so forth.

I assume the same would be true for audio. If vista can't load the driver for the sound on your local box, then it will not allow sound over the connection.

Also, you might want to check, but under the 'Local Resources' tab, make sure the connection is set to bring the remote computer sound to the local computer. This should be enabled by default, but might want to check anyways.

    Hope this helps. Thanks!

Thanks for your hardwork.  How would this apply to thin clients?

    Thanks

Re: Vista Remote Desktop - Maximum number of simultaneous users =?

Not sure, as I don't have too much experience with those, but I would figure it would all come down to the audio device on the client.

Are you using the thin client to connect to the mce box, or vice versa?

Re: Vista Remote Desktop - Maximum number of simultaneous users =?

    Hi

Sorry if this has already been covered? but is it possible to login with the same username and password on both the Vista console directly and also login to an RDP session from an XP machine?

When I tried it, it logs out the user on the vista pc.

However I was able to login to an RDP session from my XP laptop with a different user account and that did not log out the other user on the vista pc.

So do you have to use two user accounts? or can the same user account be used somehow?

    Many thanks.

I was afraid this would happen. I'm also afraid that XP SP3 will kill the XP version of the hack.

Yes that is the Beta version.
I installed the SP1 to see how the performance was in SP1
Then I saw that the hack don't work anymore
