I've tried this with my Haupage WinTV 88x  tuner and my Gamecube but am unable to get sound, any ideas?

All the cables are plugged in to the tuner. The picture quality is slightly off but I can put up with that.

Re: RE: How to use that video input within Media Center!

I have an Angel USB TV tuner that i recieved with my dell laptop. I want to hook up an external DVD player, but i can't get it to work.  I installed the Dscaler program and i can get it to work for about 10 seconds then it crashes.... Everything seems to work and then the screen starts flashing random colours.  Also I get an error message when i run the Dscaler program, but if I have both MC and the Dscaler program open i can get the MC to play the video for a the short time. I have never been able to get an image in the Dscaler program.

Is my TV tuner not compatible with this program... If this is the case can anyone please send me some other options????

Re: How to use that video input within Media Center!

Okay, I fixed this myself after some work.  If DScaler doesn't work for you, just use VLC media player.  Also, I believe it was the presence of my PCI-E x16 video card that prevented DScaler from working.  On their site they go into a long-winded explanation why you must have an AGP card to use DScaler.  So if DScaler is not working for you use VLC media player.  If you jew around with the program for a while you'll figure out how it works.

If you're having problems with Dscaler, please seek help in the Dscaler support forums at http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/phpBB/index.php. Unfortunately I cant provide support for Dscaler as I do not have in depth knowledge of it, nor do most users of this forum. Good luck!

Re: How to use that video input within Media Center!

All you have to do is take the six files located in this zip and place them in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Media Center\Media Center Programs".

+ something stupid but i cant find a way to disable the splash screen in dscaler...any help???

Re: How to use that video input within Media Center!

I have updated the link in my original post with the zip file. Sorry, I'm not really that active on this forum so I didn't realize the link was broken and people were looking for it. Enjoy!
