    JesperH:

Looking forward to receive the Vave100 and to test the sideshow gadgets as posted here.

    /Jesper

I very much doubt Ricavision are using the same beta 1 software we have seen, for their remote controls. If they are I'd be extremely disappointed in their product especially with such a preimium price tag attached. They must be using a more advanced and developed sideshow gadget for their remote controls if they are now in production and shipping. Can't possbile see them using the same software as it's way too beta.

It's a shame Windows Mobile sideshow will only work over bluetooth as my Media Center machine does not have Bluetooth, I would have preferred to use wifi. I guess I will have to get a dongle

Yeah I agree but a Blue tooth dongle is not the end of the world.

Interestingly enough the developer says he does use it on the ricavision remote, man I really hope this isn't what ricavision will be using with the final vave release...

With the gadget you can control Media Center, including seeing the program guide, recording shows, viewing your photos, browsing through music, and more. I use it on a Vave 100 remote control but you can always use the SideShow simulator if you don't have a physical device.

I didn't have a camera around, but it was a pretty simple list displayed vertically.

BT really just makes sense for this type of application. Wifi is great, but with WPA etc it is more complicated then it needs to be for a remote.

BT makes sense for many people, but certainly not everyone.  My MCE server is in the basement and the signal certainly doesn't go that far.

Well you have to admit that most people use a remote to control a device that is in the same room.

I'm alsmost scared to ask how you'd plan to use a remote to control something in another room, not to mention BT does work all the way across my house. (not a big house though)

That reminds me a something I find very odd. My BT headset doesn't work that well if it's on the oposite side of my body as my phone, but I can leave my phone in my office and walk around my house just fine -- it is a one story though.

Either way, I'd much rather pair a BT device with my VMC, then to have to enter in a 25 character alpha-numeric WPA key into a remote.

hmm...works pretty well for me, but now playing never works, it always says media center is inactive.  But I can control whatever is playing?  Weird.

last i checked ricavision has 4 release periods for the vave100, none of which came to fruition.  i am not holding my breath here either.

the mceguru showed some promise also, albeit on a n770.

Any chance that you can use this software on a touch screen that is used as a second monitor attached to my computer?

I've found a reboot after the first install is needed.  I've played with this on two Sideshow devices and I think it works great!  Still some bugs, but the functionality is down pretty well.

    Chris,

What devices did you run this on?
I'm still having no luck with getting guide data to synchronize to my AT&T 8525.
