I called 1-800-964-8321.  It is thier xps customer service number.  After that I am not sure what prompts I hit.  I think you shoulde be ok.  Like I said they knew exactly what I was calling for.

Thanks, I'll give them a call tomorrow...  if it is supposed to come with the tuners then I'll wait, but if it was supposed to be included with the XPS then I'll see if they can ship the remote asap.

Now I checked my order on Dell's site and the remote order is cancelled and I have 1 more tuner coming to me.  Does anyone think that the remote is with that tuner?

I would say, no!  Dell reordered me a tuner due to it not having remote! The tuner was DOA though.  They said the tuner and remote were bundled.  Tuner two arrived 10 days later without a remote.  After 1.5 hours on the phone with a XPS CSR on 1/10/08 I convinced him (after taking him through the configurator to show him it indeed said ATI Digital Cable Tuner w/ bundled remote) to send me a Dell Vista Media Center remote, it shipped yesterday. 

I got no remote, and I'm getting no where on hold with dell

If you call into the helpdesk, the part number that you need to have them order is MR268.  I spent 1 hour and 20 minutes on the phone with the CSR...  she was VERY helpful and wanted to get me the right part, but we couldn't find the part number.

Not sure if people are still having issues with this.  If you order the 420 with the DCT's it says it comes with a remote, but does not.  You can call customer support and I am sure they will take care of you, but it is an oversite from Dell.  I assume they think it comes with the cable tuners, but ATI doesn't include it.  So be prepaired to have to make a call to support on that issue.

As far as the lead times on the DCT.  They are a little back ordered, but Dell is pretty consistant with under promising and over delieveringfor them on most things, so it shouldn't take as long as they suggest.  Just hang in there. 

I have the XPS 410 with 2 DCT's.  I am looking to get two more.  Dell only sells them with a PC and you can only order 2 with this system.  I did find a link on Sony's site that looks like you can order them seperately.  I think I might try to order these and see...

Well, if you are referring to the remote control issue people are having, the guess is that support just thinks the tuners were supposed to include the remote (which would be a logical guess) I had the same issue when I ordered my XPS 410...no remote...I just guess I was lazy.  I just went online and ordered one about $30.00.  They probably do not have a seperate sku for the remote in the system, so they do not know how to send one to you.  So, they think if they swap out the tuner that the next one will magically have one in the box....it won't....if you feel like being loud :)  maybe you can ask to speak to a manager and see if they can remedy the issue, but still a crap shoot.  This is why I just sucked it up and bought mine.  Best thing to do is get all the info you need.  Most customer care reps won't know what you are talking about unless you can provide the info to them.  Your best bet is to supply them a sku for what you are saying is missing, and if you are lucky they will just send one out.  Try this Dell Sku# A1227734.  This isn't the sku that is supposed to come with the system, but it is a MCE remote for vista and is what you are supposed to be getting.  So if you sit there on the phone with them long enough, they just might go ahead and send it to you.  :)  Good luck!

Okay, the tuners are in the mail.  For those who didn't read everything, I ordered my XPS 420 on 1/7/08.  The original order told me there was a 6 day delay on the tuners, which means they should have shipped on the 15th (6 "business day" delay).  When I checked dell.com shortly after placing my order, the site said the tuners would ship on the 28th!  That sucks!

Well, I had hoped they would ship earlier and sure enough, they shipped today (1/22).  In total, it took 11 "business days" after my order was placed for the tuners to ship.  Hopefully they arrive on Thursday and I'll be watching and DVR'ing by next week.  Keep your fingers crossed for the install.
