Doesn't work 4 me keep receiving errors

I keep receiving errors too. I have gotten it to work by covering my left upper eye tooth with my tongue while crossing the fingers on my right hand. This only works during the Blue Moon however.

After copying the AutoDVRConvert v1.3 folder to your desktop (or whereever), double click on the "Register Filters" batch file.

Works for me with no problems at all. Install and run as admin.

Hi, does this convert to MPEG1 or MPEG2?

none of the simplified drv-ms to mpg2 convertors seem to work at all, I once found a program called VideoReDo - it would only do about 5 minutes then it would *** itself.

Works perfectly! I can now edit the .mpg files using Womble Mpeg Video Wizard (By far the best frame-based mpg editor around). Woohoo!

You need to have sonicencoders installed as this removes the DRM stuff so proggys like this can convert the files. Also, you need to make sure you run the "Register Filters" batch file.

seems to do the business very quickly

I had it working for three movies. Worked great! THEN, for no apparent reason, I got an error message "Do Run Error." Now the program converts about 20 seconds of MCE file, then error message appears. I even tried re-installing.. same problem. Help?!?

how about the winavi convertor and the avs convertor, has anyone tried these with the dvr-ms files. I have heard the avs converor has editing capibilities...any comments?

works just fine like everyone has said you got to run the bat file first.if you are not using nvidia dvd decoder, use alternative graph but u might have to manually edit it with note pad.use graph edit with sdk to see what decoder it uses to play dvr-ms files the built graph with it.hope this helps.

Anyone able to use GraphEdit to save .xgr files? mine just crashes. I have a DVR-MS to XviD Graph, but cant use it with AutoDVRConvert because I cant get it into .xgr format. Can anyone help?

Works great for me. Combined with FFDSHOW decoder to increase sound volume in MCE works great.

does anybody have this problem, i run the batch, and get the program to seemingly run correctly, it even gives me a message saying it was successful , and that the conversion is done, but there's no finished product anywhere to be found?

works okay - but some of my already existing dvr-ms-files do not have sound after the conversion to mpeg... anyone here who knows why that could be?

I am getting the same error as Zeuserx but here is the error message: One or more DS filters couldn't be added to the graph. DS-DirectShow? Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions, helps??

zeuserx and leannrlee: did you try running the .bat included in the autodvrconvert folder as computer administrator?

works great! Could be a tad more user friendly, as it seems to just grab everything and convert it without asking....but hey, it works!

For everyone that this program doesn't work: Search your install drive (Usually C:\ for a file called: MpgMux.ax copy the file from this download to the location where you found the file in the search. Usually C:\Program Files\System32. Then re-run the batch file from this download. The Program will now work.)

It crashes every 3rd or 4th file. I restart. Better then nothing.

I seems to work. It says converting and then Done. The problem is in trying to watch the mpg version. I get an error. I even tried to import to Movie maker and I get an error. Why?

it worked the second time i tried it... has anyone else had a problem of green lines coming up uopn playback? is there any way to get rid of them??

My history : 1. download, extract, run register filters, test : doens't work; 2. search MpgMux.ax, found in c:\windows\system32; copy all files there, register filters, run from there, doesn't work; 3. copy all files in the same directory as dvr-ms files (Recorded TV) run fom there and WORKS! Hope this may help somebody...

Installed, moved & Registered the 2 .ax files and it has worked perfectly for me. Converted a 2 gig file in less than 2 minutes

Was having issues ("on or morefilters couldn't be added to the graph."). Strangely enough, after updated the output path to something different then the input path, it started working !

Doesnt even get past first base. I setup all the right configuration and it goes wibble and closes. VERY WEAK!

Installing AutoDVRconvert 1.3 Written by Heimiko in Vista/86 This procedure is will make AutoDVRconvert work on Windows Vista w or w/o Media center. Also, you may use this to install other programs like DVR_2_WMV, DVRMSToolbox, and others from the http://thegreenbutton.com/or http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/ that will not install correctly. I have not tested this. If you find that it works, please pass the information on thank you. The Key to the whole thing is to turn off User Account Control. Warning: download AutoDVRconvert to a holding file first. Turning off User Account Control allows uninvited guest into to your registry. So before you start this procedure, run spy and virus software and if you can backup your registry. Just to be safe. Now let us begin: 1. go to control panel – security – check this computer’s security status 2. security essential - User Account control – Turn off Note, Windows Vista may or may not restart this is Ok. Moving on….. Now unzip AutoDVRconvert and move the contents to the folder TV Recorded wherever you may have it stored. Do not move this to the Program Section of Windows Vista. Click on the Register Filers, this will register dump and MpgMux. This is where the Program starts to fail but now is should run ok. Next click on the Alternate MPG, it will tell you to use CyberLink; Power DVD. I’m using version 6. Also correct your TV Recorded location: (<PARAM name="src" value="X:\Recorded TV\Test.mpg"/>) good Now click on WMV Output you will see (NVIDIA_Video_Decoder) if you what to using this format you will have download Nvidia’s PureVideo Decoder (http://www.nvidia.com/object/dvd_decoder.html) you can try the 30 day Trial. At this time, I copy the (AutoDVRconvert exe.) short cut to desktop just to make life easier. Now it should work, make shore you fill in the input path and output path where the recorded TV shows are located and that the output file extension is also filled in (MPG or WMV). You can change the Graphs to fit your needs like converting to Divx but that is another day. I’m just glad to have this working. It is not over yet. So far its working fine its currently converting a 3gb file will let you know if it works or not All i did was stick it on the desktop run the reg file as normal. and then run the prog as admin Vista home premium X86 oh its finished and it worked less than 5 mins to convert its perfect no loss in audio or video. will recomend :D oh and you owe me $50 :P

Does anyone know what this error means "Could not open WMV Output.xgr file". I tried clicking configure in the application for this Filter and it states "Not implemnted yet". I was able to convert one dvr-ms file and it worked great, but right after I got this error and can't seem to configure the Filter or use it. The .xgr file is in the same directoy as the application, so I don't know what is going on? Any thoughts?

ryanph that part of the program from ehat i can tell is not working it is just there double click on the WMV Output file it self as i said be for you well need Nvidia Video Decoder

just downloaded it. Gave me a little trouble, but after I put all the files in the recorded TV folder it worked fine

Oh, tip: Use VirtualDub-MPEG2 to convert to avi...much smaller file: help can be found: http://www.videohelp.com/avi2divx.htm#video. Also, if you have any problems with divx, use Xvid! Much simpler, free & none of those stupid frame ratio stipulations!

Have used all of your Great ! Suggestions, but I still have a Problem. AlternateMPG.XGR doesn't want to cooperate. Does anyone know how to make that work.? Is there something that has to be loaded 1st?

I'm afraid I have to agree with all of the people that think this program is low quality. Boooo poor quality software... Boooo... Running Windows Vista. Registered the files using the bat script... get the one or more filters couldn't be added to the graph error..

Installed as per ddancius' instructions, and all went flawless. i did not even 'search' for the .ax file in win..\sys.. I just put it there, and no it did not give a 'file exists' error so it must have not made it. Anyhoo, converted 'on the fly' a 1/2 hour show for testing, and all seems aok. Good show!!

This little utility is the ultimate for people like me with a vista media center in the living and the kiss 1600 in the bedroom. As I record all my favorite TV programs in dvr-ms this utlity on the fly makes also a copy in mpg...so I also can see it in the bedroom on my kiss. Great..Super.

I'm sold on VideoRedo. It's not free but you don't have to stand on your head and wiggle your left big toe to make it work. I use it almost daily. The only problem is you have to check the automatic edits because sometimes it misses the black screen or the show doesn't put them in. It doesn't work with AMC, however.

It is only recording 13-20 seconds of a program and then stopping. What am I doing wrong?

I am using XP Pro & this program has worked PERFECTLY for me. No errors whatsoever. I use this program to convert DVR-MS files to MPGs, then I use Ulead Video Studio 9 to edit out the commercials. Works great!
