D-Link DSM-750’s Being Reported as Defective?

It was bound to happen, a product that had been delayed for months and months finally ships…and now people are reporting defective units.  I’ve seen multiple reports, but one user at The Green Button got through with D-Link support and is supposedly getting a replacement unit.  The issue appears to be failure to get the unit to connect to Media Center, even after the proper update/SP1.

It will be interesting to see how D-Link handles this.  I’m interested in how exactly the units are “defective”; I’m wondering if a firmware flash would actually help.  I know one person that has successfully had a DSM-750 working, so I’m pretty sure not all shipping units are truly defective.  I’ll follow-up on this as time passes.

Got mine Friday - unboxed plug into hard wired gigabit network router - DSM750 boots but won't respond to remote --- couldn't set up immediately - went to lunch - came back - box responded to remote - completed setup - used it since, no problems.
