Short Bits: HD-PVR, Home Server, Online Spotlight

Hauppauge put up the pre-order form for their HD-PVR 1212 that I talked about last week.  Especially if you are ordering with Media Center in mind know that it will not work out-of-the-box, Media Center can’t support the video format it is pushing out.  Hopefully Hauppauge can add support by years end.  Price is $250 per device.

Update: SnapStream Blog has photos of it working with Beyond TV.

Looks like the data corruption bug in Windows Home Server is finally set to be fixed with Power Pack 1.  (Via Missing Remote)

Mike wrote a great article also on Missing Remote about the Online Spotlight in Vista, or rather the lack thereof. I still don’t know why all MTV Networks properties just disappeared last week, we had talked about it on The Green Button but I haven’t got any more information about it.

Speaking of The Green Button, I know it is down.  I’ve e-mailed the Admin so I hope he got that or is reading this.

Also, if anyone else has questions please reply to my Media Center Week post.  I’ll post the first batch of replies tomorrow, but keep them coming and I’ll try and answer as many as I can.

I'm really excited to start hearing some reviews on this HD-PVR. I am going to pre-order the card and try it out with my new TimeWarner install and see what the results are. If it works out I may dump DirecTV all together.
