CES Short Bits: Slingbox, Microsoft

Today SlingMedia announced the Slingbox PRO-HD which includes multiple inputs and outputs, including digital audio and a digital (ATSC/QAM) tuner.  The Slingbox PRO-HD is the first Slingbox to stream (and not downconvert) content up to 1080i with 5.1 surround on your local LAN.  Assuming you have a fast enough Internet connection you can also get fantastic near HD content at remote locations.  The Slingbox PRO-HD will be released in Q3 2008 for $399.99.  Engadget has a hands-on post that also features Sling’s new Blackberry client.

If you are at CES this week then be sure to checkout the panels and conferences that Microsoft will be involved in.  Looks like IPTV (Mediaroom) will be making a big splash this year.  Gates CES keynote will be streamed online here (750kbps) or here (300kbps).
