S1Digital Launches Media Center Server

S1Digital LLC, a builder of premium home entertainment solutions announced the launch of the S1Digital Media Center Server Edition. Aimed at custom installers and dealers, the Server offers a rack mountable, high performance Media Center that will fit in with existing or new home theater installations.


The S1Digital Media Center Server Edition, based on Microsoft Media Center Edition 2005, provides customers with a high-end digital entertainment solution including:


  • Digital video recording of up to four channels simultaneously, with 2 ATSC
  • HDTV tuners and 2 SDTV tuners
  • Up-scaling DVD player (with HD-DVD and Blu-Ray options coming soon)
  • DVD playback from hard disk (DVD Jukebox)
  • 1.2 to 2 terabytes of RAID 5 storage
  • Digital music jukebox
  • Internet radio, music and movie downloads
  • 7.1 channel audio with onboard Dolby Digital Live encoding and Dolby Digital and DTS decoding
  • Digital photo storage and editing
  • CD/DVD+DL burner
  •  Multi room playback of audio and video via Xbox 360, Media Center Extenders or other network media players

The Media Center Server Edition is the perfect digital media storage device for customers with large video and music libraries that want an easy to use, centralized storage and playback platform. In addition to large internal storage options, additional capacity can be added via options such as network attached storage (NAS). Networked media players enable playback of content from the Media Server to other rooms in the house over standard Ethernet networks.

  • 10/100/1000 Ethernet
  • 7.1 channel high definition audio
  • Nvidia PureVideo Decoder Platinum Version (DD and DTS decoding)
  • Gyration RF wireless keyboard and mouse
  • DVD+DL drive
  • Nvidia 7600GS with DVI, HDMI (with adapter) and component video output
  • Memory card reader
  • 4U quiet rack mount case
  • Upgradeable to Vista
